THE NEW VIEW

This is the new view up on the island. My friends dave and krissy worked their booties off getting the view.

Many thanks to them for their work and their friendship. here is the email dave sent with the pictures. As jerri blank would say, dave is hilarious.

Krissy and I had a great time up at your cabin. I have, with Krissy's
help, modified your landscape. I took down 25+ trees. Attached, you will
find pictures of your new view.

Picture "logancottage" is a view of your cabin from the shore. As you know,
the last time you were up at your place, seeing your place from shore was
not possible. However, give me a friggin chain saw and look what happens.
By the way, your chain saw looked new. Well, its been broken in quite a bit
now. As you can see in the next picture "lumberjackdave" I'm going at it
with quite a bit of vigor :)
Now, if you look at "shipview" you can see the picture that Krissy took from
your front lawn. She did have a telephoto lens on the camera, but the
freighter was plainly visible on the horizon from your front door area.

"view1" is a picture of your new scenic view taken while sitting on the
couch in your living room. As you can see, the shoal is now plainly visible
and shows quite a bit of wave action. "view2" is from the front of your
cabin with a telephoto lens to bring it up alittle closer. You can now see
the big rock in the water off shore from your front yard. And "view3" is a
picture that was taken just before my wife sent me up to Mrs Buley's to get
a bow saw and branch nipper because she was INSISTENT that you have a view
of that damn rock. So she waded down through the brush and nipped and sawed
her way to the offending brush and hacked it down like a jungle guide.

There was a hellacious windstorm on Monday. There was spit and ass flying
all over the place. Trees cracking and falling and on Tuesday, Sandy called
the cabin and said that a tree was down across the road and it was your darn
tree from your property and she needed it cleared so her cabinet man could
get in to finish his work. She was very thankful that we were at the cabin
and even more thankful that I enjoyed cutting stuff up with a chainsaw.
So....we all trouped up to the offending pine tree that had the entire road
blocked. I fired up that Husky chainsaw and went to it. I cut it up and
made the women lug the wood off the road. (I considered that kind of smart)
She also brought back your big red dollie and I put it in the shed for you.
Anyway, I kind of got off track with the dollie part. We loaded up my truck
and brought the wood down and stacked it by your fire pit.

Anyway, I took down alot of trees and Krissy and I lugged up about 2 years
of firewood for you. There is probaby another 5 years of firewood still
down there, but the chainsaw was tired and the blade was getting dull again.
I took your chainsaw to Nates Marina. He sharpened it while we waited. He
cursed your damn chainsaw. Said it was the most complicated chainsaw (He
used other words though) that he had ever seen. Kept saying..OH HUSKY SURE
HAD A BETTER IDEA DOING IT THIS WAY...he was saying it kind of
sarcastically. Had alot of trouble getting the cover off the chainsaw to
get the blade and chain off. I kept him from throwing it to the ground and
stomping it. I told him I would kick his ass if he threw it down and
stomped it.

Charged me a friggin arm and a leg, 50 bucks, cause he had such a hard time
with that cover. Is that more expensive than a new chain? I'm not sure. I
never owned a chainsaw before and he told me that 50 bucks for a sharpening
was a heck of a good deal. The 20 extra dollars he charged me for cleaning
the chainsaw and oiling it seemed excessive so I got him talked down to 15
bucks for that. So, 65 dollars and the thing cuts like a new saw. I'm sure
you will be happy with it.

So, there is still alot of wood down there that needs to be cut to size and
hauled up. I dont want you to let it rot on the ground. I hope your happy
with your new view. Sandy Buley was really impressed. Said you dont have
to come over to her house to see the view anymore because yours is so good.
She said that her husband and she may be hanging out over at your place more
often because your view is better than theirs is now. I told her that if
she wanted to hang out at your cabin, she better bring plenty of booze with
her on each visit so you all can sit and get drunk while you watch the waves
hit Big Shoal.
Anyway...your probably shaking your head and wondering what kind of idiot
would pay 65 dollars to get a chain sharpened. I was just kidding about
that. It only cost 5 bucks.

Let us know what you think.
