Logan's DI rehab

I tried to get Logan to do some rehab work in Lake Huron. He was more interested in drinking the water, instead of walking in it. He did seem to get some benefit from the exercise tho.

I plan on having him trot alot this summer in the water. I think he will be feeling better since both knees have been repaired.

2x4 BASICS BENCH

This trip I made one half of the 2x4 basics picnic table. Here is their website:

2x4 basics

They have some other interesting projects too. I might try the firewood rack next.
You can get the bench at Menards. The wood is extra. I need to bring my router up.
I want to round off the edges on the bench.

Big Shoal beach May 2006

In the evenings we would go to Big Shoal Beach and watch the sunset and enjoy the water. I did not see another person at the beach this trip up. It was nice to have the beach all to ourselves. The water level looked about the same as last year to me.

Cloverland electric at work May 2006

A big tree fell on the power line down by the road along the driveway. Cloverland came right out and took that tree off the line. I asked the guys to take down some dead trees by the house, line and service entrance. They used their bucket to push the trees in the direction they wanted it to land. They helped out by taking a few trees down in my driveway too.

The big tall trees that have all the dead branches just hanging up there......they call these trees widowmakers.

Looking in the urban dictionary there was a bunch of definitions for widowmakers.

Logging term,most in Pacific Northwest

and Redwood country.
A large limb or broken tree-top that falls while the tree is being felled
or a limb that is bent, then breaks off flying back towards logger.

On Wednesday Loren Deal came over and helped me take down a bunch more trees. We cleared out many dead tress around the house. He was a big help. I still have a bunch of wood to clear up and stack from the ground.

Drummond May 2006

Logan was happy to be on the island. He got around pretty well on his bum knees.
He relaxed and got plenty of sleep.

No black flies this trip. But the mosquitoes were bad for the last few days.

Good sunsets

OPENING OF THE FISH HOUSE MAY 2006

The fish house was opened this year on May 22nd.

Numerous trees were down around the place. Two live trees (cedars) fell on
the fish house. No damage to the roof. I noticed many more dead
tress close to the house, that should be removed. This would be my project for this
trip. To remove those dead trees.

Inside the fish house. All ok. No other major damage to any thing around the site. No leaks in the plumbing! Yippee. Thanks to Dad + Mark for that.
My dad was the foreman on the original plumbing job. My brother were the backbone of the project. Every time I turn on the water there I think of them and I am thankful.

The view to lake Huron is still breathtaking...

FISH HOUSE DREAMS LIVE ON !!!!!!!!
